Chapter Five — Praise of Janaki, Rama, and Ayodhya
Jayati Janakajāyāḥ pāda-padmaṃ manojñaṃ hari-hara-vidhi-vandyaṃ sādhakānāṃ susevyam,
Nakhara-nikara-kāntaṃ mudrikānūpurāḍhyaṃ hṛdi madhye yogi-yogīśa-bhāvyam. (71)
Victory to the enchanting lotus feet of Janaka’s daughter—revered by Hari, Hara, and the Creator, and lovingly served by spiritual practitioners. Their beautiful nails shine; rings and anklets adorn them; and the greatest yogis contemplate them in the innermost heart.
Jayaty Ayodhyā-ramaṇo rasātmā vilāsino pūrṇa-kṛīḍābhilāṣaḥ,
Sucāru-cāmīkara-cīradhārī Dharāsutā-citta-vinodakārī. (72)
Victory to the beloved Lord of Ayodhya, the very soul of rasa, whose desire for divine play is complete. Dressed in beautiful golden-yellow cloth, he brings delight to the heart of the daughter of the Earth.
Na candrasya gatis tatra na sūryasya gatis tathā,
Prabhayā Rāmacandrasya Sītayāś ca prabhāvataḥ. (73, continues)
Neither the moon nor the sun has any course there, for the brilliance of Ramachandra and the sovereign radiance of Sita illumine that realm entirely.
