Chapter One — In the Wondrous Forest
The companions worshipped the Divine Couple with flowers, garlands, fragrances, excellent foods, prepared betel, and many other offerings. Many danced while gazing upon their moonlike faces, all eager for the rasa of the rāsa.
Bhramad-bhramarikā-yutaṃ vanam anantam atyadbhutam,
Niveśya Janakātmajā-rucira-kandharāṃse bhujam. (35)
Placing his arm upon the lovely shoulder of Janaka’s daughter, Rama wandered through the boundless, wondrous forest filled with roaming bees.
Namāmi rasa-bhājanaṃ vijaya-bhāminī-saṃyutam,
Vivikta-Sarayū-taṭe rasika-mauli-mālaṃ Harim. (36)
On the secluded bank of the Sarayu I bow to Hari, crown-jewel of rasikas and vessel of rasa, united with his victorious beloved Lady.
Thus ends the First Chapter of the supremely secret Śrī Hanumat Saṃhitā, the great festival of the mahārāsa, in the dialogue between Hanuman and Agastya.
