Receiving grace, the soul remembers its essential form and sacred contemplation shines forth.
Birth and action are known as divine, and every devotional feeling becomes a joy of service.
Within the realm of feeling in the heart, one finds the happiness of eightfold daily service.
Victory to the joy-filled Gurudeva, whose mind forever dwells upon the play of Sita and her Beloved.
The gross, subtle, and causal bodies are chains of suffering fashioned from maya.
Through your grace they dissolve naturally, and the soul attains a stainless, bliss-giving body.
Knowing the natural spiritual form as the fourth state, the soul serves day and night in happiness.
Beholding the sweet and enchanting Divine Couple, even Rati and her lord become overwhelmed.
May such beauty dwell within my mind; Rupashila desires no happiness apart from it.
Causelessly gracious Gurudeva, supreme relisher of the form of Sita and Rama!
Rejoicing, you sing the virtues of Sita’s Lord and reveal the disposition of exclusive devotion.
You repeat and cause others to repeat the names of Sita and her Beloved, pouring rain like the clouds of Shravana and Bhadrapada.
Singing Sita’s qualities, you experience extraordinary happiness and regard material pleasure as straw.
Firm devotion to the divine abode bestows supreme happiness and removes crushing sorrow.
My hope rests only in the guru; from every other support I remain without expectation.
Knowing me orphaned, please be gracious and soak my mind in the loving play of divine name and form.
The six transformations are exceedingly powerful, and because of them my mind cannot become steady.
Vasudeva joins his hands and says: Gurudeva, hear this prayer of mine.
Closing couplets
1. The beauty and virtues of Sita and Rama are the very name of the one whose nature is beauty. Receiving the grace of that one, the soul finds rest.
2. Grant such grace, O knower of the mystery of Sita and Rama, that the fish of my mind remain absorbed in the ocean of the Divine Couple’s rasa.
3. I received the mantra of the Divine Couple from the guru but did not keep the company of saints; how, then, could I recognize Rama’s form or become coloured in his love?
