Supplement — Śrī Sadguru Cālīsā
Homage to the true Guru.
Opening couplets
1. Know Rama and Sita as the meaning of tat, and their inspiration within Om. Through devotion to the guru, know the individual soul as the meaning of sat.
2. The gracious glance of Sita and Rama entered the world in the form of the guru. Without refuge at the guru’s feet, the soul does not become free from grief.

The sky of the heart lies in deepest darkness; the guru’s word illumines it like the sun.
The material sun is touched by defects, but this divine sun is free from every defect.
When it enters the heart even once, one sees what is hidden and what is manifest.
How does the servant of the guru’s feet regard the world? As one regards one’s own passing possessions.

One who repeats the name without taking refuge in the guru does not obtain the glory proclaimed by the Veda.
Entering the guru’s refuge with natural simplicity, one sows the seed of love and affection.
Unalloyed love fills the heart, and Sita-Rama become pleased, bestowing happiness.
Even the Vedas do not know the distinction within that love, just as the field does not know the knower of the field.
Victory to the gracious, compassionate Gurudeva, true to his promise and protector of the humble.
When a humble soul comes for refuge, you increase its love for the feet of Sita and Rama.
You are the form of Sita-Rama’s grace, uniquely assuming a human body.

Without devotion to Sita and Rama there is no true crossing and no end to coming and going.
