The Fullness of Rāma's Reign

Global chapter 511 of 51427 passagesSource PDF pages 408410
Chapter context and opening material

Source: Volume 3, physical PDF pages 408–410 (printed pages 387–389). Structure: Twenty-seven sequential Sanskrit passages. The final two are long closing stanzas, each retained under its single printed marker. Summary: Rāma establishes Kuśa and Lava as kings, and Lakṣmaṇa, Bharata, and Śatrughna likewise install their sons in appointed realms. Ayodhyā prospers through worship of cows and brahmins, charity, sacrifice, study, vows, hospitality, and four-footed dharma. The chapter then distinguishes layers of Rāma's līlā: some behold perpetual union with Sītā, outward observers perceive separation, some see the vow of one wife, and others behold Padmā, Sahajānandinī, and Rāmā as the supreme beloved. Through Yogamāyā, Rāma discloses or veils his transcendent play according to the beholder, removes Earth's burden, establishes dharma and devotion, reveals his nondual form, and delights his servants through inexhaustible majesty, strength, fame, beauty, knowledge, and detachment. Editorial note: Chapter 51 begins on physical PDF page 410 after this chapter's colophon.
