Chapter context and opening material

Source: Volume 3, physical PDF pages 353–356 (printed pages 332–335). Structure: Thirty-five continuously numbered Sanskrit passages. Summary: Responding to Ātreya's inability to bear separation, Rāma explains that when he withdraws to his eternal abode, his companions and all beings associated with his manifested līlā will follow him. Pramodavana and the līlā remain inwardly present, while Ayodhyā, Ratnādri, the Sarayū, Rāma-kuṇḍa, the twenty-four groves, and other sacred places continue to confer devotion and liberation. Rāma tells Ātreya to wander among these sites in ecstatic remembrance, worship Sahajā, and cultivate intense love. In the future Sārasvata kalpa he will enter the eternal līlā as Sahajā's companion Candracūḍā, together with the Veda-sages of his lineage.

Its footnote also records that this passage is absent from the compared Baḍau witness.
