Global chapter 458 of 51454 passagesSource PDF pages 275278
Chapter context and opening material

Source: Volume 3, physical PDF pages 275–278 (printed pages 261–264). Structure: Fifty-four continuously numbered Sanskrit verses. Verses 1–12 describe Rājinī's bliss and the natural settings of Sahajā and Rāma's play. Verses 13–44 unfold their festivities through spring, summer, the rains, autumn, Hemanta, and winter. Verses 45–50 praise Rāma's youthful form and the pair's divine identity. Verses 51–54 teach contemplation, surrender of action, and the qualified transmission of this secret path of rasa. Summary: Having understood Sahajā's essential nature from Śiva's teaching, Rājinī enters ever more deeply into bliss while beholding Sahajā and Rāma's līlā. Śuka presents an expansive cycle of their seasonal play in mountains, bowers, waters, gardens, festivals, song, dance, and rāsa. He then praises Rāma as the compassionate moon of Pramodavana, inseparable from his beloved, and identifies Sahajā as the embodiment of Śrī Rāma's bliss. The teaching closes by instructing Janaka to offer all action to her and to reveal the secret only to a devoted knower of rasa who worships Rāma as Parabrahman.
