Global chapter 453 of 51432 passagesSource PDF pages 208210
Chapter context and opening material

Source: Volume 3, physical PDF pages 208–210 (printed pages 194–196). Structure: Thirty-two continuously numbered Sanskrit verses. Verses 1–3 bring Śiva to the anxious Rājinī; verses 4–14 explain Rāma as the embodiment of the supreme śṛṅgāra-rasa and Sahajā as his non-different eternal counterpart; verses 15–25 reveal the divine status of Rājinī's daughter and the worship offered to her by the gods; and verses 26–32 describe Sahajā as the source of Lakṣmī, Gaurī, Sarasvatī, Gaṅgā, Gāyatrī, and all divine manifestations. Summary: Śiva arrives in ascetic form and, pleased by Rājinī's worship, addresses the secret behind her anxiety. He teaches that the pure rasa proclaimed by revelation is śṛṅgāra, whose supports, stimulants, outward signs, and transitory emotions are eternally tasted in Rāma's supreme form. Rāma is the rasa-embodied Puruṣottama, and Sahajā is the equally eternal, playful embodiment of rasa; no difference should be imagined between them. Both have appeared in the two cowherd homes exactly as they shine in eternal Sāketa. Sahajā is not an ordinary daughter: Śiva, Brahmā, Śeṣa, and the gods bear the dust of her feet, and worship of the pair grants a good beyond the four human aims and realization of one's true self. Pramodavana and the entire eternal retinue have manifested with them. Even the Vedas know her only through “not this, not this”; Lakṣmī, Gaurī, Sarasvatī, Gaṅgā, and Gāyatrī are merely her portions, while she remains eternally pure, liberated, and established in the one Supreme. Śiva Comes to the Anxious Rājinī
