Passage 1
इन्द्र उवाच— मदाधिपत्यं कियदेतदस्ति यस्मिन्नहं नाम तथापि मातः। सेयं भवत्याः सुदुरन्तमाया नो चेत्कथं वै प्रभजामि न त्वाम्॥१॥
Indra said: “How little is this dominion in which I bear the title of ruler! Even so, Mother, it is your profoundly unfathomable māyā; otherwise, how could I fail to worship you?
Passage 2
ब्रह्मादयो लोकपालाः समग्रास्त्वदङ्घ्रिपङ्केरुहधूलिधूसराः। लुठन्ति ते धाम्नि शुभे प्रमोदने गवां पुरीषेषु रजःसु चैव॥२॥
Brahmā and all the guardians of the worlds, gray with dust from the lotus of your foot, roll upon the dust and even the cow dung within your auspicious realm of Pramoda.
Passage 3
तत्रापि मातः प्रविभासि नित्यं प्रमोदवल्लीवनगह्वरेषु। अत्रापि चांशेन ततोऽवतीर्णा रामेण साकं रमितुं रमाभिः॥३॥
Mother, you shine there eternally within the vine-filled forest bowers of Pramoda; from there you have descended here in a partial manifestation to sport with Rāma and your companions.
Passage 4
यान्या अपि व्रजभुवि प्रमदाः सहस्रं श्रीरामचन्द्ररमणोत्सवलब्धकामाः। तास्त्वत्प्रसादमधिगम्य न चेदभूषां केदं सुखं हरिविरञ्चिशिवाद्यलभ्यम्॥४॥
The thousands of women in Vraja who fulfilled their longing in the festival of delight with Śrī Rāmacandra attained your grace. Without it, how could they possess a joy unavailable even to Hari, Brahmā, Śiva, and the other gods?
Passage 5
व्यक्ता विभाति सततं बहुमूर्तिता ते एकैव यद्रमसि रामरसेन्द्रयुक्ता। कुमुद्वने प्रमुदवीथिषु नित्यधाम्नि सङ्केतकुञ्जमिथिलापुरि कोसलायाम्॥५॥
Your many forms shine manifest forever, though you are one as you delight with Rāma, sovereign of rasa—in Kumuda forest, upon Pramoda's pathways and eternal realm, in Saṅketa's bowers, in Mithilā, and in Kosala.
Passage 6
श्रीराधिकासि किल कीर्तिसुतेति गीता सीतासि कोसलपुरे मिथिलापुरे च। व्यक्तं तदंशसहिता सहजेति चासि श्रीमत्प्रमोदवनवीथिषु पूर्णरूपा॥६॥
You are sung as Śrī Rādhikā, daughter of Kīrti; you are Sītā in Kosala and Mithilā. Manifest with those partial forms, you are Sahajā, the complete form upon the glorious pathways of Pramoda forest.
Passage 7
पूर्णैव सर्वविषयेषु वितीर्णदृष्टिर्नित्यं तथापि रमसे रसिकेन्द्रयुक्ता। श्रीमत्प्रमोदवनवीथिषु नित्यमग्ना स्वानन्दसिन्धुलहरीगणसङ्गमेषु॥७॥
Though complete and extending your vision through every domain, you eternally delight with the sovereign of connoisseurs, immersed upon Pramoda's glorious paths in the meeting of waves from your own ocean of bliss.
Passage 8
साकेतधाम्नि सुभगे सरयूतटान्तरिगन्तरङ्गशिशिरोपवनाभिरामे। नित्यं स्थितैव जगतोऽन्तकरणाय मातर्भूयोऽपि सम्प्रकटितासि निजांशुभासा॥८॥
You stand eternally in lovely Sāketa, beautiful with cool groves and the inner waves along the Sarayū's bank. Yet, Mother, for the world's protection you manifest again through the radiance of your own portion.
Passage 9
कल्याणिनी सुखदकल्पलता जनानां स्वाङ्घ्रिप्रसादभवभव्यसमूहभाजाम्। भक्तिं तनोषि कृपया खलु रामचन्द्रहस्तग्रहं विदधती भवसिन्धुमध्ये॥९॥
Auspicious one, you are a wish-fulfilling vine of joy for those who receive the blessings born from your feet. Through grace you expand devotion and, in the midst of the ocean of becoming, place their hands in Rāmacandra's.
Passage 10
न स्यास्त्वमीशि यदि दत्तकरावलम्बा भक्तावलेर्विदधती कुशलानि नित्यम्। श्रीमन्महारसिकराजवरोऽपि किं तु कुर्वीत तेषु करुणामरुणाङ्घ्रिपद्मे॥१०॥
O Goddess, if you did not give the support of your hand and eternally secure the welfare of the host of devotees, how could even the glorious king of the greatest connoisseurs bestow compassion upon them, O you with crimson lotus feet?
Passage 11
स्वरूपभूता तव या प्रकाशशक्तिः परं सा सुविशुद्धसत्त्वा। उदीर्णबोधा विरजस्तमस्का न यत्र मायागुणसम्भृतौघः॥११॥
The power of illumination that constitutes your own nature is supremely pure being, filled with awakened knowledge, free of passion and darkness; in it no flood compounded of māyā's guṇas exists.
Passage 12
अज्ञानिनां ये गमकास्ते न सन्ति लोभादयस्तव देहानुबन्धाः। तथापि दर्पं शमयस्यसुराणां धर्मावगुप्तिं कुरुषे च स्वभावात्॥१२॥
Greed and the other traits that mark the ignorant have no connection with your body. Yet you humble the demons' pride and, by your own nature, preserve dharma.
Passage 13
त्वं कालरूपा त्वमसि श्रीः सुधा त्वं माता पिता जगतस्त्वं हि तेषु। लीलावतारेष्वसि क्रीडसि त्वं नानास्वरूपैः सह पत्या रमेत॥१३॥
You are time in embodied form; you are Śrī and nectar; you are the mother and father of the world. In descents for līlā you sport in many forms and delight with your Lord.
Passage 14
त्वं भक्तिरूपाखिलजीवजुष्टा प्रवर्तयस्यर्थपथं कृपाढ्ये। वेदार्थसारज्ञबुधावलीभिः प्रायः प्रपन्ना निजरूपलब्धये॥१४॥
You are devotion itself, cherished by every living being, and rich in grace you set the true path in motion. Hosts of wise ones who know the essence of the Veda seek refuge in you to attain their own true nature.
Passage 15
ब्रह्माण्डवर्गे मद्विधाः कोटिशस्ते गायन्ति कीर्तिं विपुलप्रणादम्। दृष्ट्वा विभूतिं तव भूरिभाग्ये न कस्य जायेत हि मानभङ्गः॥१५॥
Across hosts of universes, millions like me loudly sing your fame. Seeing your majesty and immense fortune, whose pride would not be broken?
Passage 16
आविर्भवन्ती भुवने भ्राजसे त्वं शमाय दैतेयजभूभरस्य। तथैव पादाम्बुजमाधुरीजुषां भवापवर्गाय सतां मुनीनाम्॥१६॥
Manifesting in the world, you shine to remove the burden of earth born from demons, and likewise to grant liberation from becoming to saintly sages who relish the sweetness of your lotus feet.
Passage 17
तुभ्यं नमो भगवत्यै पुरुष्यै श्रीजानक्यै श्रीसहजाधिकायै। अप्राकृतं सत्त्वमुपाददाना या क्षेममेतस्य करोषि तस्यै॥१७॥
Homage to you, the blessed Goddess and feminine Supreme Person, glorious Jānakī and sovereign Sahajā; assuming a wholly nonmaterial being, you secure the welfare of this universe.
Passage 18
यः कृष्णनामा भगवान् यशोदागर्भैकरत्नं भविता द्वापरान्ते। सोऽपि त्वदंशेन समृद्धकामो भवापवर्गं स्वजुषां संविधाता॥१८॥
At the end of Dvāpara, the Lord named Kṛṣṇa will become the single jewel of Yaśodā's womb. Even he, his desires fulfilled through your portion, will arrange liberation from becoming for those devoted to him.
Passage 19
श्रीरामचन्द्रोऽजनि राजमौले रघुप्रवीरो दशवक्त्रादिहन्ता। सो वै त्वदीयाधरपीयूषधारावशीकृतः क्रीत एव त्वयाम्ब॥१९॥
Śrī Rāmacandra was born as the crown of kings, the hero of Raghu's line and destroyer of the ten-headed Rāvaṇa and others; yet, Mother, subdued by the stream of nectar from your lips, he is wholly purchased by you.
Passage 20
स्वच्छन्दलोलावपुषे विशुद्धविज्ञानमूर्त्यै करुणात्मिकायै। सर्वात्मिकायै सर्वबीजप्रदायै नमो नमः सर्वभूतात्मने ते॥२०॥
Again and again homage to you whose freely playful form is the embodiment of pure knowledge and compassion, who are the self of all, giver of every seed, and inner self of every being.
Passage 21
न ज्ञायते तैर्जननि स्वरूपमस्मादृशैस्तव भाव्यानुबद्धैः। तेषां कृपाहेतव एतदेव प्रकाशितं निजरूपं भवत्या॥२१॥
Mother, your true nature cannot be known by those like us, bound to conditioned states. Only from compassion for such beings have you revealed this form of your own.
Passage 22
त्वयानिजानुग्रहभाजनीकृताः सुरेश्वरा मादृशाः कोटिशोऽद्य। न चेत्कथं दृश्यरूपास्मदीभिर्निरञ्जना निर्गुणा त्वं निरीहा॥२२॥
Today you have made millions of gods like me vessels of your grace. Otherwise, how could you—stainless, beyond the guṇas, and without desire—be visible in form to beings such as us?
Passage 23
त्वं जानकी जनकस्यालयेऽद्य त्वं श्रीः परा सहजा त्वं कलेश्वरी। स्वयोगशक्त्या बहुधा त्वं विभासि त्वया सनाथा वयमद्धा समस्ताः॥२३॥
Today you are Jānakī in Janaka's home; you are supreme Śrī, Sahajā, and sovereign of every divine art. Through your yogic power you shine in many ways, and through you we have all truly found our protector.
Passage 24
त्वमीश्वरी देवि चराचरस्य त्वं नः पतीनां पतिरप्रमेया। धराधर्मश्रुतिगोविप्रदेवरक्षाकरी जयतात्केवलेव॥२४॥
You are the sovereign Goddess of all that moves and does not move; immeasurable, you are the ruler even of us rulers. May you alone triumph as protector of earth, dharma, śruti, cows, Brahmins, and gods.” The Celestial Consecration
Passage 25
लक्ष्मण उवाच— इत्युक्त्वा देवराजस्तां सुरभीस्तननिर्गतैः। अभ्यषिञ्चत्सरभसं पयोभिरमृतोपमैः॥२५॥
Lakṣmaṇa said: “Having spoken thus, the king of the gods eagerly consecrated her with milk like nectar flowing from Surabhi's udders.
Passage 26
ऐरावतकरानीतव्योमगङ्गापयोभरैः। मन्दारकुसुमस्तोममकरन्दसुगन्धिभिः॥२६॥
He used abundant waters of the celestial Gaṅgā brought in Airāvata's trunk, fragrant with the nectar of masses of mandāra flowers.
Passage 27
सौराज्यं चैव साम्राज्यं सर्वैश्वर्यमहापदम्। आधिराज्यं महाराज्यं दत्त्वा तस्यै परश्रिये॥२७॥
He conferred upon supreme Śrī blessed rule, universal empire, the great station of all sovereignty, overlordship, and supreme kingship.
Passage 28
तदीयचरणाम्भोजमकरन्दसुनिर्वृतः। कृतार्थं मन्यमानं स्वं निजलोकमुपाव्रजत्॥२८॥
Perfectly satisfied by the nectar of her lotus feet and considering himself fulfilled, he returned to his own realm.”
