Chapter context and opening material

Ghoṣavatī describes Mount Sāntapana, son of Kaśyapa, and his marriage to Sumeru's daughter Haimī. While Ghoṣavatī sports with Sahajā's companions, the gods appeal to Viṣṇu for relief from the descendants of Pulastya. Viṣṇu and Brahmā enter Rāma's immeasurable Vraja realm and ask Ghoṣavatī where Rāma is, but she is too absorbed in divine love to answer. Brahmā curses her to an immobile birth; Viṣṇu rebukes Brahmā and explains Vraja's transcendence. Ghoṣavatī then becomes a river and later manifests as Janaka's daughter.
