Chapter context and opening material

Rāma identifies Lakṣmī's companions as the daughters of the ocean who attained perfection through austerity and later joined Sītā–Rāma's play at Citrakūṭa. When Sītā asks how the nectar arose, Rāma recounts the emergence of Vāruṇī and Dhanvantari, the Asuras' seizure of the nectar jar, and Hari's promise to recover it for the gods.
