“After eating the sweet remnants himself, a person becomes fulfilled and gains the merit of ten million horse sacrifices; of this there is no doubt.” Thus ends Chapter 144, “The Arrival in Vraja during Daśaratha's Pilgrimage,” in the Pūrva-khaṇḍa of the glorious Ādi Rāmāyaṇa, in the dialogue between Brahmā and Bhuśuṇḍa. Witness control note Chapter 144 begins below the Chapter 143 colophon on source leaf 1074 and ends above the Chapter 145 heading on source leaf 1081 (physical PDF pages 1075–1082). The witness prints a continuous sequence of passages 1–86 without a numbering anomaly. The complete chapter therefore contains 86 independent units. All eight scan pages were reviewed directly, and the English is a fresh translation from the scan-controlled Sanskrit.
