Source note This treatment is controlled against the 1975 Sanskrit–Hindi edition, Pūrva khaṇḍa, source leaves 606–615 (physical PDF pages 607–616; printed pages 475–484). OCR supplied the alignment layer, while the scan controlled the chapter boundary, speaker changes, tīrtha names, Viśvāmitra narrative, and colophon. The edition prints passage number 2 twice at the opening; the second printed 2 is registered editorially as passage 3. It prints the passage between 88 and 90 as 87; that passage is registered editorially as 89. After passage 106 it prints 108 twice; the first printed 108 is registered editorially as 107. The source reading ūṣaraḥ in passage 109 is retained; its footnote records the Rewa edition’s variant ākaraḥ. These corrections preserve the complete 111-passage sequence without abridgment.
