श्रीरामसुहृदस्तान् वै कुमारान् दीप्तवर्चसः। सुखितः प्रीणयामास दधिदुग्धोदनादिभिः॥१॥
“Sukhita delighted those radiant princes, the dear friends of Śrī Rāma, with yogurt, milk, rice, and other foods.
Passage 2
माङ्गल्यकाकरानीतैः पक्वान्नैः सुपेशलैः। आत्मानं रोचयामासुः सखायो राघवस्य ते॥२॥
“Rāghava’s friends refreshed themselves with exquisitely prepared dishes brought by Māṅgalyakā’s own hand.
Passage 3
वार्तालापैः शुभोदन्तैः प्रश्नैः श्रीरामसंगतैः। सुखितं नन्दयामासुर्घोषराजं महाशयम्॥३॥
“Through conversation, auspicious news, and questions concerning Śrī Rāma, they delighted the noble-hearted Sukhita, king of the cowherd settlement.
Passage 4
भोजयित्वा व्रजे हृष्टो रत्नैर्दधिघृतादिभिः। सारवं सलिलं पीत्वा स्थितान् ताम्बूलिकामदात्॥४॥
“Joyfully feeding them in Vraja with precious yogurt, ghee, and other foods, he gave betel to the princes after they had drunk the finest water and were comfortably seated.
Passage 5
सुखितः सर्वगोपानां सभायां सुसभाजितान्। सखीन् रामस्य तान् हृद्यानर्चयामास माल्यकैः॥५॥
“In the assembly of all the cowherds, Sukhita received Rāma’s endearing friends with the highest honor and worshiped them with garlands.
Passage 6
सुगन्धैस्तोषयामास रञ्जयामास सुस्वरैः। भूषयामास वै सूक्ष्मवासोऽलङ्कारमौक्तिकैः॥६॥
“He pleased them with fragrances, entertained them with beautiful music, and adorned them with fine garments, ornaments, and pearls.
Passage 7
दिव्ये महाहर्म्यशयने सुखेन सुषुपुश्च ते। वीजयामास माङ्गल्या रामबुद्ध्यैव तत्सखीन्॥७॥
“They slept comfortably upon a divine bed in the great palace, while Māṅgalyā fanned Rāma’s friends, seeing Rāma himself within them.
Passage 8
ततश्च तेऽन्येद्युरशोककुञ्जं विलोकितुं कामयमानाः कुमाराः। ययुः शनैः सारवतोयबिन्दुप्रवर्षिमन्दानिलवीजिताङ्गाः॥८॥
“The next day the princes, desiring to see the aśoka bower, went slowly onward, their bodies fanned by a gentle breeze that scattered drops of the finest water.
Passage 9
ते रामभद्रस्य पदानि तत्र तत्र स्थले प्रियमानाः स्वचित्ते। आनन्दशोभासहितान्यपश्यन् लीलाविशेषप्रकराङ्कितानि॥९॥
“Their hearts filled with love, they saw Blessed Rāma’s footprints here and there, radiant with bliss and marked by the signs of his distinctive pastimes.
Passage 10
रघूत्तमो यत्र येष्वादरेण व्रजाङ्गनानां स्मरचित्तचोरः। चकार चमत्कारकरान् विहारानपारसौहृदसुधारसार्द्रान्॥१०॥
“At those places the best of the Raghus, thief of the love-filled hearts of Vraja’s women, had enacted astonishing pastimes steeped in the nectarean essence of boundless affection.
Passage 11
येषु क्षणं तस्थुषां मानवानां गङ्गासहस्राधिकतीर्थपुण्यम्। स्नानाद्दानात्पिण्डनिर्वापतः स्यान्निर्णीतं यद्विबुधानां मुखेभ्यः॥११॥
“The gods have declared that a person who remains in those places for even a moment earns sacred merit surpassing what comes from bathing, giving charity, and offering ancestral cakes at a thousand Gaṅgās.
Passage 12
सरय्वाः पुलिनद्वीपे प्रमोदवनमुत्तमम्। तत्र श्यामवनं नाम रामस्य सुखवर्धनम्॥१२॥
“On an island amid the Sarayū’s sands lies the excellent Pramoda forest, within which is the grove called Śyāmavana that increases Rāma’s happiness.
Passage 13
अधित्यकायां रत्नाद्रेः सरय्वाः पुलिने तथा। अशोकवनमाधुर्यं किंचिद्वक्तुं न शक्यते॥१३॥
“Upon the slope of the jeweled mountain and along the Sarayū’s sandy bank, the sweetness of the aśoka forest cannot be described even in the smallest degree.
Passage 14
तत्र रामः स्वयं साक्षादाभीरीजनवल्लभः। क्रीडन्नास्ते परब्रह्म लीलामानुषतां गतः॥१४॥
“There Rāma himself, beloved of the cowherd women, abides in play—the Supreme Brahman who has assumed a human form for divine sport.
Passage 15
तत्राशोकलताकुञ्जे ययुस्ते राममित्रकाः। व्रजवासिजनोदिष्टमार्गेणादृतपूर्वकाः॥१५॥
“Rāma’s friends respectfully followed the path shown by Vraja’s residents and entered that bower of aśoka vines.
Passage 16
तत्र कुञ्जालये दिव्ये पारिजाततरोस्तटे। अपश्यन् सहजारामचरणाम्भोजयुग्मकम्॥१६॥
“There in the divine bower, at the foot of a pārijāta tree, they saw the marks of Sahajā and Rāma’s pair of lotus feet.
Passage 17
भक्त्या प्रणम्य सहजारमणाङ्घ्रिपद्मं पूताशयास्तुलसिकादलसौरभेण। ते पारिजाततरुमूलमवाप्य दृष्ट्वा प्रापञ्चिकीं विषयगामतितेरुराशाम्॥१७॥
“Bowing with devotion to the lotus feet of Sahajā’s beloved, their hearts purified by the fragrance of tulasī leaves, they reached the foot of the pārijāta tree and, beholding it, crossed beyond worldly hopes directed toward sense objects.
Passage 18
तत्रैव ता राघवेन्दोः परिचर्याः शुभाननाः। आभीरकन्यका एत्य परिवव्रुः कुमारकान्॥१८॥
“There the lovely-faced cowherd maidens who attended the lord of the Rāghavas came forward and surrounded the princes.
Passage 19
ते रामस्य नर्मसखास्तासां रामे मनोरतिम्। दृष्ट्वा चात्मानमत्यर्थं निनिन्दुर्भावकोविदाः॥१९॥
“Those intimate friends of Rāma, expert in sacred emotion, saw the maidens’ love for Rāma and felt profoundly dissatisfied with their own devotion.
Passage 20
सौकुमार्यं च लावण्यं रूपं लावण्यमेव च। तासां दृष्ट्वा कुमारास्ते मेनिरे रहितं जगत्॥२०॥
“Seeing their delicacy, grace, beauty, and ever-renewing loveliness, the princes considered the rest of the world bereft of all these qualities.
Passage 21
श्रुतवन्तो यथा पूर्वं गुणान् गुणनिवेदितान्। सहस्रगुणितांस्तस्मादपश्यन् रामपार्श्वगाः॥२१॥
“Rāma’s companions had previously heard their virtues described, but now they saw those virtues multiplied a thousandfold.” --- Thus ends the sixty-seventh chapter, entitled “The Sending of the Messengers to Vraja,” in the dialogue of Brahmā and Bhuśuṇḍa in the *Śrīmad Ādi Rāmāyaṇa*. Textual notes The chapter begins on source leaf 425, occupies leaves 425–426, and ends with its colophon on physical PDF page 427. All twenty-one numbered passages were transcribed directly from the 1975 scan; archive OCR was used only as a locating and typing aid. The edition presents a clean numerical sequence from 1 through 21. Passages 8–11 and 17 contain extended printed units under single source numbers and are retained as such. The difficult or irregular printed readings सारवतोयबिन्दु (8), अनपारसौहृदसुधारसार्द्रान् (10), प्रापञ्चिकीं विषयगाम् (17), and राघवेन्दोः परिचर्याः (18) are preserved or translated conservatively rather than silently replaced.
