Passage 74
एतद्वो दर्शितं रूपं मोहव्यपगमाय च। विश्लेषार्त्तिभवायासव्यवच्छेदाय च प्रियाः॥७४॥
“Beloved ones, I have shown you this form to remove delusion and to cut off the distress and exhausting anguish born from separation.” --- Thus ends the forty-ninth chapter, “The Secret of the Rāma-gītā within Rāma’s Journey,” in the dialogue of Brahmā and Bhuśuṇḍa in the *Śrīmad Ādi Rāmāyaṇa*. Textual notes The chapter begins on source leaf 347, occupies leaves 347–354, and ends with passage 74 and its complete colophon on physical PDF page 355. All seventy-four passage numbers are sequential in the edition. Passage 21 follows the scan’s प्रमाणानाम् (“among measures”), correcting the transcription aid’s pramādānā. Passage 27 follows the scan’s बलिरहं, not the aid’s वलिरहं. Passage 15 retains the unfamiliar printed horse name वृहच्छ्रवा; it is not silently replaced by Uccaiḥśravas. The same passage also preserves the edition’s grammatically deficient दंष्ट्रिणास्मि, rather than supplying the missing genitive plural ending. Passage 49 prints the singular verb प्रवेशयति for the dual gatekeepers Jaya and Vijaya and immediately proposes (तः?), yielding dual प्रवेशयतः. Both the base text and its queried ending are retained; the English follows the secure dual sense. Passage 52 prints श्रीराम and places the queried correction [रमा?] directly after it. The translation exposes both readings because the surrounding compound is compressed and the edition itself does not resolve whether the reference is to Rāma or to Ramā’s Lord, Nārāyaṇa. Passage 40 contains one preliminary anuṣṭubh line followed by a longer four-pāda unit under the single printed number 40; the complete five-line passage is preserved. Passage 34 retains the printed प्रिया, and passage 41 follows the scan’s grammatically expected singular उपास्ते, correcting the aid’s upāsate. Passage 43 and passages 52–54 retain the edition’s unstable Sanskrit agreement while translating the evident sequence of the gopīs’ vision without silently rewriting the root. Passage 73 similarly prints masculine singular परः with plural feminine भवत्यः; the English conveys the intended predication while leaving the transmitted form visible.
