Textual notes The chapter begins on source leaf 289, occupies leaves 289–296, and ends with passage 64 and its complete colophon on physical PDF page 297. All sixty-four passage numbers are sequential in the edition. The scan controls तालदृक् against the auxiliary transcription’s uninterpretable तालवृक् in passage 3, वेणुं against वेणं in passage 14, अवलम्ब्य against अवलम्व्य in passage 23, and विभूषणानि against विभूगणानि in passage 40. The dense and textually difficult opening अस्तमाममरनागनगीनां in passage 46 is retained rather than replaced from conjecture; its English follows the verse’s clear contrast between celestial beauty-pride and admission as maidservants. The edition’s technical instrumental taxonomy in passage 8 and lists of principal women and divine witnesses in passages 17–18 and 47–50 are preserved in full. Sanskrit compounds and sandhi are otherwise normalized only where word division introduces no textual choice.
