Textual notes The chapter begins on source leaf 278, occupies leaves 278–282, and ends with passage 40 and its complete colophon on physical PDF page 283. All forty passage numbers are sequential in the edition. The scan controls याध्वसहस्रं in passage 3, the split निधेहि तमाम् in passage 6, नस्तव in passage 10, निभालयसे in passage 23, and मरुद्बहु in passage 32 against defects or misdivision in the auxiliary transcription. The difficult printed openings अपि नोदय तं स्पृहणीयुगणे (29) and असकौ (33), along with हृतये (37), are retained rather than silently emended; their English follows the prayer’s immediate syntax and sense. Sanskrit compounds and sandhi have otherwise been normalized only where word division introduced no textual choice.
