Textual notes The source calls this a thousand-name hymn although its compact litany is transmitted in verses 3–79 rather than as one thousand separately numbered entries. Verse 81 is printed as a three-line stanza and is retained in that form. At verse 85 the edition notes लक्ष्म्या यथा as an alternative to the printed यथा रामस्तथा लक्ष्मीः; the translation follows the printed line.
