Passage 100

प्रमुद्वनविहारिण्याः सीतायाः सुखवर्द्धनम्। रामप्रियाया जानक्या नामसाहस्रकं परम्॥१००॥

This supreme thousand-name hymn of Jānakī, Rāma’s beloved, who roams the Pramud forest, increases Sītā’s joy. --- Thus ends the fourteenth chapter, “Sītā’s Thousand Names,” in the dialogue of Brahmā and Bhuśuṇḍa in the Śrīmad Ādi Rāmāyaṇa. Textual notes The source calls this a thousand-name hymn although its compact litany is transmitted in verses 4–95 rather than as one thousand separately numbered entries. The edition prints verse 51 twice, labels the next verse 52, and then resumes at 54; the second 51 and following 52 are numbered 52 and 53 here. In verse 92 the printed स्वयंलक्ष्म्या is retained; the edition itself marks स्वयंलक्ष्या as a possible correction.
