…visualize a divine mirror in Śrī Bhakti’s hand. This completes the account of how articles of worship vary with the seasons. The text now briefly describes the daily worship interwoven with occasional festivals. In the month of Caitra contemplate the four brothers, the anniversary of Raghunandana’s birth, songs of congratulation, the sixth-day rite, and the twelfth-day rite. On the bright ninth of Vaiśākha contemplate Jānakī’s birth festival, its anniversary, congratulations, sixth-day observance, and the other rites. In summer picture the meal, repose, and assembly entirely within flower pavilions. In the rainy season, from four in the evening until night, contemplate the Lord with his company at the swinging festival in Śrī Pramodavana. From the bright eleventh of Bhādrapada through the full moon, contemplate swinging in a boat and play upon the water. On a moonlit autumn night see Sītā and Rāma seated at the centre of a throne with Bharata, Lakṣmaṇa, and Śatrughna. Around them groups of companions sing and play instruments, dance in many movements, and form the circle of rāsa. Then, with Bharata and the other brothers and friends, visualize the evening meal of rice pudding, cream, and other dishes in the moonstone courtyard. From the bright fifth of Mārgaśīrṣa through the dark second of Pauṣa contemplate Rāma’s wedding play, the gauna homecoming festival, and the bridegroom-and-bride attire. From the bright fifth of Māgha through the dark Rasaranga fifth of Caitra, following the stated method of Śrī Rūpasakhī and the others, contemplate daily Holī play from one watch before day’s end until twilight. Combine these and similar festivals with the service: however steady the mind becomes and however long it remains engaged, that much contemplation of mental worship is itself a cause of supreme joy and auspiciousness. For a devotee who sometimes lacks time for the full visualization, the text now gives the worship alone in the briefest form.
