…आरती कर, आशीष दे-दे, बलैयाँ लै-लै, सवारियों से उतारि, हृदय में लगाय, मुख चुम्बन कर समाजसहित चारों पुत्रन को सुन्दर आसनों पर बैठावती भईं। पुनि मंजु मेवा खवाय, जलपान कराया, मुख पोंछि, पानबीरा खवाय, पुष्पमाला पहिराय, सन्ध्या-आरती करती भईं; पुनि बैठ के बारम्बार बदन बिलोकती हैं। उसी समय श्रीचक्रवर्तीजी महाराज आये। सब कोई उठ खड़े हो, सखनसहित चारों भाई प्रणाम करते भये। श्रीमहाराजजी प्रिय पुत्रों को आशीर्वाद दे, हृदय लगाय, श्रीरामलालजी को गोदी में ले के सिंहासन पर विराजे। श्रीकौशल्याजी श्रीलखनलाल को अङ्क में ले के महाराज के दाहिने विराजीं। श्रीकैकेयीजी श्रीशत्रुघ्नलाल को लेके श्रीमहाराज के वामदिशि बैठीं। श्रीसुमित्रामाता श्रीभरतलाल को लेके बड़ी अम्बा के दाहिने विराजीं। अन्य सब सखावर्ग श्रीमहाराज के दाहिने बैठ गये तथा सम्पूर्ण माता श्रीकैकेयीमाता के बायें बैठ गईं। इस वात्सल्य-विनोद-सभा को महारानी श्रीसीता आदि वधूवर्ग झरोखों से सुखसंयुक्त देखता है। श्रीमहाराज के आगे नाच-गान-नाटक-हास्य-कौतुक-विनोद माताओं की किंकरीवर्ग करने लगीं। पश्चात् पहरभर रात जाने पर सभा उठी। श्रीमहाराज पुत्रों का प्यार-दुलार करके बियारी को गये। श्रीरघुनन्दनलाल को बन्धु-सखाओं के संयुक्त श्रीकौशल्यादिक अनेक माताएँ बियारी कराती हैं। ऐसे ही श्रीजनकललीजी की भगिनी-सखिनसंयुक्त चारों वधुओं को श्रीसुमित्रा आदिक अनेक सासुएँ बियारी कराने लगीं। प्यार-दुलार, प्रेम-प्रमोद से बियारी कराय, अँचवाय के पानबीरा खवावती भईं। पुनि श्रीरघुनन्दन-जनकनन्दिनीजी को एक सिंहासन में बिठाय, दाहिने तीनों पुत्रों को बैठाय तथा बायें में तीनों बहिनी—श्रीमाण्डवीजी, श्रीऊर्मिलाजी, श्रीश्रुतिकीर्तिजी—को बैठावती भईं। इस प्रकार आठों स्वरूपों की शोभा देखि…

…perform ārati, give blessing after blessing, ward away evil repeatedly, help the four sons descend from their conveyances, embrace and kiss them, and seat them with the assembly on beautiful seats. They feed them lovely dried fruits, give drinks, wipe their faces, offer betel rolls, place flower garlands around their necks, and perform the evening ārati. Then they sit and gaze again and again upon their faces. At that moment the emperor arrives. Everyone stands; the four brothers and their friends bow. The king blesses and embraces his dear sons, takes Rāma upon his lap, and sits on the throne. Kausalyā sits to the king’s right with Lakṣmaṇa in her lap. Kaikeyī sits to his left holding Śatrughna, while mother Sumitrā sits to the senior queen’s right with Bharata. The other companions sit to the king’s right, and all the remaining mothers sit to Kaikeyī’s left. Queen Sītā and the other daughters-in-law happily watch this playful assembly of parental affection from the latticed windows. Before the king, the mothers’ maidservants perform dance, song, drama, comedy, spectacle, and games. After one watch of night the assembly ends. The king caresses his sons and leaves for the evening meal. Kausalyā and the other mothers feed beloved Raghunandana together with his brothers and friends. Likewise Sumitrā and the other mothers-in-law feed Janaka’s daughter and the four brides with their sisters and companions. With love, tenderness, and delight they complete the meal, help them rinse, and give betel rolls. Raghunandana and Janakanandinī are then seated on one throne, the three brothers to their right and the three sisters—Māṇḍavī, Ūrmilā, and Śrutakīrti—to their left.
