…पान कर आचमन कर परिकरों के सहित आय श्रीप्रभु को प्रणाम करती भईं। श्रीप्रभु के करकमलों से सपरिकर बीरा पाय प्रसन्न भईं। उसी समय में शयनभवन की सहचरी पुष्पसदन में पुष्पसज्जा आदि साज सम्हारि के आई और प्रणाम करि कर जोरि के खड़ी भईं। तब प्रभु सबों की ओर कृपादृष्टि कर श्रीसियाजी सहित उठ कर चल दिये और सब सभाजन श्रीप्रभुरुचि जानि प्रणाम-आशीर्वाद कर-कर निज-निज सदनों को जाते भये। केवल मुख्य परिवार श्रीभरत-लक्ष्मणादिक चँवर-छत्रादि लिये शयनकुञ्ज-शाला को पधारे। आय के शयनभवन के प्रथम आवरण के सिंहासन में श्रीरघुवर-जनककिशोरीजी बिराजे। श्रीभरतादिकों के करकमलों से सखीवर्ग चँवर-छत्रादि लेती भईं। श्रीभरत-लक्ष्मणादि भ्राता श्रीप्रभु की आज्ञा पाय प्रणाम कर विश्राम करने को पधारे। श्रीयुगलसरकार मुकुट-चन्द्रिकादि भूषण उतार के फूलबङ्गला के मध्य में पुष्पसज्जा पर आ विराजे और श्रीमुख-प्रक्षालन-कुल्ला कर शयन करते भये। तब श्रीभक्ति चारुशीलाजी और भावुक जन तथा सखीगण प्रणाम कर के शोभासिन्धु की शोभा हृदय में धर के बाहर निकल आये। कपाट बन्द कर दिये। साधक गर्मी की ऋतु में बाहर बैठ के पुष्पमाला-रचित पंखा की रेशमडोरी खेंच के श्रीप्रभु को पवन करने लगा और सप्रेम नाचगानपूर्वक प्रभुशोभा का चिन्तवन करने लगा। तथा जाड़े की ऋतु में श्रीभक्तिजी के मुख से श्रीदिव्य गुणसिन्धुजी की सुशीलता, कृपालुता, वात्सल्यता, उदारता, क्षमा, शान्ति, सुलभता, मृदुता, मैत्रीपालकता, स्वजनदोषविस्मृति, सर्वज्ञता, कृतज्ञता, रसज्ञता आदि दिव्य गुणावली सुनता-गुनता भया; श्रीनामस्मरण करता है। पुनः श्रीजानकीकान्त रामकान्ताजी को जागरण…

…is drunk; Śrī Bhakti rinses, returns with her attendants, and bows to the Lord. Delighted, she and her retinue receive prepared betel from his lotus hands. At that moment a companion from the sleeping palace arrives after arranging the flower-bed and other decorations in the flower chamber. She bows and stands with folded hands. The Lord casts a gracious glance upon everyone, rises with Sītā, and departs. Understanding his wish, the members of the assembly bow, offer blessings, and return to their own homes. Only the immediate family—Bharata, Lakṣmaṇa, and the others—accompany them to the sleeping bower, bearing fly-whisks, parasol, and other insignia. Raghubara and Janaka’s daughter sit upon the throne in the first enclosure of the sleeping palace. The companions receive the fly-whisks and parasol from Bharata and the others. With the Lord’s permission, the brothers bow and depart to rest. The divine Pair remove crown, forehead ornament, and other jewels, sit upon the flower-bed at the centre of the flower bungalow, rinse their mouths, and lie down. Lovely Śrī Bhakti, the contemplative servants, and the companions bow, hold the ocean of beauty in their hearts, go outside, and close the doors. In summer the practitioner sits outside and pulls the silk cord of a fan woven from flower garlands, fanning the Lord while lovingly contemplating his beauty through dance and song. In winter the practitioner listens to and reflects upon Śrī Bhakti’s account of the divine ocean of virtues—gracious conduct, compassion, parental tenderness, generosity, forgiveness, peace, accessibility, gentleness, fidelity in friendship, forgetfulness of a loved one’s faults, omniscience, gratitude, discernment of rasa, and more—while remembering the divine Name.
