…with a low stool is set facing east on the bank of the pool. Seated there, the Lord applies the ordinary tilaka and performs the morning twilight rite. He puts on sandals, goes with the assembly to the divine palace of adornment, and sits. Fortunate Śrī Bhakti and the other blessed servants arrange the articles and begin their service. They order his curls, bind the crown-lock, and paint a graceful linear tilaka of saffron. Bhakti and the devotee anoint all his limbs with saffron paste and place a yellow sacred thread upon him. Jeweled anklets or heavy jeweled foot-rings adorn his feet. His lotus hands receive bracelets set with white and red gems and golden wristlets set with gems of five colours. Divine jeweled rings are placed on the ring and little fingers of both hands; armlets set with white, red, and green gems adorn both arms. Around his conch-like neck they place a collar whose central red Kaustubha gem is two and a half fingers long and as thick as a thumb. On either side come green gems, then diamonds, red gems, sapphires, and yellow gems: a wondrous five-coloured jeweled breast ornament. Beneath it hangs an elephant-pearl necklace. At its centre shines a square pendant set with five-coloured gems; to either side of the pendant lie one gem, one red gem, one green gem, three elephant pearls, then a red gem between two green ones, followed by three more elephant pearls.
