नूपुर ठुमकि झिंझिनि रमाके भूषन झमक धुनि छाइ। रही सुरंग मचाइ मुनिमन छोभ कीनो जाइ॥ बादित्र धुनि कछु गान धुनि रही माहि अभ्यन्तर पूरि। सिंगार रस उमड्यो अधिक लखि पिया मनचक्र चोरि २७॥

Anklets ring with each stamping step, and Rama’s ornaments flash as their music fills the air. Such beautiful color and commotion arise that even sages’ minds could be disturbed. Instrumental sound and strains of song remain, filling the inner space. Erotic rasa surges ever higher, stealing the beloved’s wheel-like mind. (27)
