Saar (Essence)
Ananta teaches that duality and suffering exist only as mental positions. He guides seekers to abandon the false identity of the 'individual doer' and rest as the ever-free, non-separate consciousness that naturally moves the body.
All duality, distinction, and separation is just in the mind; the world is not saying that we are separate.
Freedom is your starting position. You don't have to solve it for some future you.
The mind is one who gives unsolicited advice on how to be miserable.

Namaste, namaste everyone. Welcome to satsang today. Satguru Sri Mooji Baba Ki Jai. It is that time because there is a power outage here today, a lack of internet connection, so I'm not even sure if my words are already good or not. The network bandwidth is not so good, and there is no power connection to the computers, which might die any time. Let's see how it goes. It's a bit like life; we plan a lot for tomorrow, but who knows if it will actually come?
I was seeing some time ago that it feels to us that this world is full of duality, and it is this world that is full of distinctions, that it is this world which has so much separation. But actually, all duality, distinction, and separation is just in the mind. The world is not saying that we are separate; the mind makes of 'me' and 'you.' All we ever experience is oneness. As Maharaj says, we are never experiencing suffering, but we are suffering our experiencing. Duality is not inherent in experience; it is only in our notions, in our labels. And this is very good news. This is extremely good news because that means that for oneness, for non-separation, for non-duality, all that we have to do is forget about it. And also forget that all that the mind has to offer is positions.
I feel this about this; I think this about things. Like, 'I think my life should go this way,' 'This is how my partner should be,' 'This much money I should have,' 'This is how the body should be.' All of these are positions. But it is all nonsense. It is all nonsense because this 'self' is not real. So if the foundation itself is non-existent, then what building are we building on top of that? This building of the 'me' is completely false. The positions of this 'me' are completely false. Now the problem is that anything I say can also sound to you as if it is a position. So when I say 'forget about it,' you can say, 'Okay, now I'm taking this position; I'm always just going to forget about it,' you see? Whatever it might be, then that becomes a position. If I say 'You are the Self,' then 'I am just the Self, I am not going to become anything else'—that is a position. There is position inherent in all language.
So sometimes I use simpler terms. When I say don't make anything a thing, nothing is a thing, you see? All the mind is doing is you are thinking lots of things, saying 'this is a thing,' but 'this is actually a thing,' or 'this is really, really, really a thing, you have to treat it as a thing.' It is not. Nothing is a thing because none of this has ever actually happened. Okay, no point saying every day 'they are changing the unchanging.' If you keep making that which is changing a thing all the time, then whatever the mind is offering up to you as a position, just let it come and go. Let it come and go. Don't have any concern about this non-existent one.
But I have to get to my freedom. Is this the way to my freedom?

See, if you're still counting on a way to freedom, it is not it. If you are still figuring out whether you are doing the right thing, it is not the right way. If you still feel like 'If I do this often enough, I will be free,' it is nonsense because freedom is your starting position. You don't solve it for some past you, and you have no time to solve it for some future you. The best gift you can even give to the future you is to not be concerned about that one right now. See, so many of us are so concerned about the future, what's going to happen. Even when I leave satsang, stay with me. Okay, now suppose you were to give your gift to that one who is going to be here two hours later. What is the best gift you can give to her or him? It is to not be concerned for his non-existent ego, which is just causing more and more suffering, more and more unknown.
Okay then, so what am I supposed to do now for the possible future? If I have no concern for freedom or for anything material, then what am I supposed to do now?
What are you referring to yourself as here? I was joking with someone saying, I tell you what you're supposed to do now: make sure that the sun keeps shining, make sure that gravitation is working well, make sure that time and space are moving in sync. This is your job that you are doing because you are this one consciousness in the light of which all of this is happening. But what you actually mean mostly is, 'What am I supposed to do as this body?' We are not talking about what should I do as consciousness. So, 'What am I supposed to do as this body?' But who told you that you are a body? How come you pick one sensation out of the billion right now and say 'this is me' and everything else is not me? How long will you, consciousness, play this game? 'What am I supposed to do? Why didn't I get it? Or did I get it? Can I hold on to what I got?' All this desire and worship is built on the fake idea of duality, on the fake notion of distinction. And nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing is forcing you to make that distinction. Nothing is forcing you to believe that there is an individual me. Consciousness cannot be forced by any power in this world.
So then what is the body supposed to do now? Exactly what it is doing. It doesn't need the help of a non-existent one to tell it what to do. The existent Being, which is consciousness itself, is running this body. Just the one, the same one who is moving the stars and the sun. All of them are given this gift. So when it starts like this, now today we're using it to find the way back. So what is the question of this whole situation? 'What am I supposed to do?' And then you might say, 'Okay, now I get it, I get it. There is no doer, I have nothing to do. Does this mean I'm free now?' Again, which one? Which one? The same concern for the non-existent one. Are you talking about the one that is the light of this universe? No, you know that one is free. Who are you talking about as a self-reference when you say, 'Have I got it? Am I free?'
I've been saying that the mind only has one trick up its sleeve, and the trick is to convince God that it is a person. It's connecting God literally to the person. It is trying to do that now. I mean, I know it will not succeed. All of its best ideas imply that there is something that actually can make me go from person to God. But that would imply that there is actually an existent person here, that there really, really is a person. So forget about it. And forget that you forgot, because don't hold onto the 'forgetting' position. All these things I'm saying are impossible for the mind to do. Okay, what is he saying? To what now? It is impossible. Give up on this mind and give up living open, naked, empty of any defense or attack. Let this body move as it is meant to move. Let this world move as it is meant to move. At your hand is the judge who has always been looking at the actions and reactions in this body and making claims about you. You are the ocean, but the mind is saying that you are a drop. How long will you wait for the drop to become the ocean before you see that you are the ocean?
The thing you're looking at is falling in. Okay, when its tongue doesn't move like that, then I will admit that I'm free. Look at the flower. Is it to you just a bundle of sensations? See, all of this perceptible universe is nothing but a bundle of sensations, a bundle of perceptions. You are never touched by them. You are them, but you are transparent. Can you live without the spiritual strategy? Yes, you can. The seeker has been looking for better and better strategies. 'How do I get to the truth?' But you are the truth. You are not the body. They only convince yourself that you are this body. This body is part of the coming and going. I know with all of you it doesn't sound right, and I see that you are also coming in more. That ego is just an appearance that will come and go. Something deep within you does not resonate with that. You know that you are the constant, eternal Self. So no strategy, no mantra, nothing to remember, nothing to forget, nothing to do, nowhere to go. There are no quick fixes.
Some of us feel so lost now.
That's what we'll call being lost in the Light. Instead of saying 'I am the same,' God is. Ram is. What are you considering yourself to be even now? What are you considering yourself to be? What are the benefits of considering yourself to be a limited entity? With all the news of it, it's a way of whether you're suffering or not. So if you ask as a sincere seeker, 'But really, really tell me, what should I do?' Some have the courage to be that much in question, but still need some advice like that. I would say: let go. Don't resist anything at all. Don't take a position about anything at all. Now, don't confuse this inner attitude with what your mouth claims to be saying. Because in the play of this world, as activities and actions are happening, you will find that this body-mind seems to take positions. You're just watching all of this play out. 'I'm watching this one take this position of no position. I'm watching this one take this position of an opposition as the play of this one.' How to act? You could do anything without it sounding like a position. Don't worry about that. I am not worrying about this one. How long will you play with this nonsense? It is my job to do it, but who am I to have this design? Only the Satguru, the God, the Guru is there. One then. Okay, it should be better. The drop has broken through the front for the ocean. The drop will always seem like it is going left or right, it is taking positions. Our regard to signals, but you let this one go. Let the life of this one go. It is well taken care of. Let it go. Let it go. Maybe you didn't need it anyway. You've been ready so far. All that worked out so far, and then we do it anyway. Where is this one going? This body is going where it is meant to go. Best-case scenario, worst-case scenario, where is this body going to be in two hundred years? Best case, only one case.
Now the thing is that when I say let go of it, you can take on the opposite position, which means that 'I'm going to let go of it, so I'm just going to lie around all day.' This is the body, you see? But that's also a position. It is not that. So that's something. Don't try to understand this. Let it hit home deeper than what you can think about it. You have to let go through the intellect, your mind, for a bit. Let this body go, which means you don't have to decide this way or that way. Not sitting in bed all day or going to work all day—all of that has been done by a higher power anyway. The sun is not saying, 'Should I retire? Should I not go to work? Maybe I'll take a break.' It shows up the same way. Whatever is meant to happen through this body will happen. But you have a way to cause misery for yourself, which is to believe that you are something.
Does this mean you're free? Forget about it. 'Am I established in awareness now?' Forget about it. 'Am I at the end of my suffering at least?' Okay, who are you then? Do the roots that came from a plant that came from a seed that never sprouted—when you take care of this, the fruit comes online which comes from the seed that never sprouted. The same way today, as if you are this individual who never has been. Nobody knows how to move a finger. Nobody knows how to do it. You might say, 'Yeah, I don't want to lose the thought that I know.' But do you actually know what moves a finger? Nothing. Nothing. This mental knowledge is that useless. It cannot move a finger but pretends it runs the world. This is the mind. What are they saying in reality? What is another definition of the mind? One who gives unsolicited advice on how to be miserable is the mind. Unsolicited advice on how to be miserable.
What will happen sometimes is that because we felt like these parts were our crutches, these positions were our crutches and we need them to live, to walk—as you throw them away, there might come a sense of sickness. Okay, the mind will use that opportunity to bring back your favorite mix of the all-time top ten list: relationship, money, security, body, and say, 'At least there you know.' Which means then you know who you are. What lies! You have never known what's next. You only feel who you are when you listen to the mind. But it tries to come up and offer you some stability. And the emptiness is the thing. Let's say the Master is very important, and the emptiness is happening for you to hear that it is okay. It happened. You are not falling; you are learning to fly. These crutches had to go. Your chains were not helping you; they were just terms of limitation. I am here to remind you that nobody has ever come to this and regretted it. Nobody has found this and said, 'Oh, it would be better if I had a million dollars instead.' Nobody. Nobody said, 'Take away this liberation and give me a body that will live 300 years.' Nobody. At least what you find is something much greater. But as this walking has confidence, it will come. I feel like the fear of the unknown, the fear of death itself, like what you were saying yesterday—the Master's words will take you beyond this dance.
And the best part is what? You don't have to know how to forget about it. You don't need a 'how-to' to forget about it because right now you have forgotten. That is the beauty of this life. But the truth is ever-present and the false goes. It's a dream. So the 'how to forget' is also a position. You're not trying to 'how to.' I will get to just now. Forget about it. And forget that you forgot. Don't hold onto the forgetting position. Let life be like no position with regard to it moving on its own. And this body-mind is as much a part of life as life itself. For a few moments that you feel like it is still naked, the mind will come with offers of fitness. You're not finding anything; don't hold this idea. You're not losing anything, you're not finding anything, you're not getting anywhere. Forget about it. Thank you all so much for being in satsang today. Satguru Sri Mooji Baba Ki Jai. Guru Kripa.
