Perception vs awareness — the distinction

okay, let's slow down, because this is a very important point, so in Satsang we make a distinction between perception and awareness, isn't it? So when we say, I am aware of the perceptions of this word, isn't it? So when we are saying, who is aware of the word, that is the shortened version of who is aware of the perceptions that we are calling the word, so who is aware of sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing, all of these things, who is that, which is aware of all of these perceptions? Are we seeing sight, are we hearing, hearing, are we touching touch, are we smelling smell, then what is the relationship that we have with these perceptions? What is the distinction between perception, perceiving, which is a construct of attention and awareness, which is independent of attention?
