There are No Two, No You and Master
Truth is always already what you are, but the mind creates separation through its constant commentary; only by ignoring the mind's voice do we realize there are no two, no you and Master, it is just... just.
I just hope I dissolve right in front of you, nothing remains.
You are, [Snaps his fingers] that is always done. [Silence] That I have no doubt about. That I have no doubt about.
As it happened with you. [Smiling]
That also I have no doubt about. That Truth, that Self Knowledge, that Atma Darshan, that Reality is ever present and ever accessible and ever available. It’s always there. It is what you are. [Silence] It’s your next move that is always of wonder to me. Because if the Master says ‘You are free’ and the mind comes and says, ‘But, but but.’ Who is your real Master? [Silence]
In that case my mind becomes my Master.
You see that’s what happens. Although we may say, ‘Oh Master, you are my real Master and I will listen to everything you are saying and I will not follow any other voice…’ you see, what happens is that we put the Master also in the dimension of the mind and we refer everything that the Master is also saying, like in this conversaHon, something is said and we go to the mind and say, ‘Hey what do you think about this? Now he’s saying that... .’ And the mind says. ‘But you saw yourself yesterday? It was not right, it can’t be, that has to go.’ [you then report] ‘Ahh but Father you saw me yesterday and this happened…’ So it’s a three way conversaHon. It’s a three way conversaHon and then it becomes a two way conversaHon, then it becomes just one. So it starts of like a tennis match where you are like the spectator, Master is saying something, mind is saying something, so you are going crazy in the middle looking at what both are saying. Then you say, okay I don’t bother about that player. I don’t bother about Nadal I’m only going to look at Federer. Then we’re only looking at Federer for a long Hme. Then in that looking at Federer you see that there are no two, no you and Master, it is just…just. But in the tennis match you’ll only hurt your neck. [Chuckling]
Key Teachings
- The Self, Truth, and Reality are ever present, ever accessible, and ever available - it is what you are
- The mind creates a three-way conversation (seeker, Master, mind) that keeps us in separation; we must transcend this to realize there are no two
- When the Master says 'You are free' but the mind says 'but, but, but,' the mind becomes the false master
