The Longing For Sadguru Presence
The Sadguru Presence is already within you; the mind's doubts and definitions are limitations that dissolve when you simply remain aware of the Divinity without measuring or questioning.
That's good enough, we can pause here. The longing for the Sadguru inside. So already you said 'Inside'. So, where will you find the Sadguru?
Inside. But there is...
Before we go to the 'But', who is there inside? Who is there inside? [Pauses] Who's Presence is there inside? [Silence] The mind has one main mission, that is to convince you that your Presence is a limited Presence, it is not God's Presence or the Sadguru’s Presence. But your Presence, your Atma is the Paramatma.
The mind is trying to define something and put some...
In all definitions, definitions by definition are limitations, and the Self is not limited. So, if you buy into a definition, you buy into a limitation about the Self. How is that for a definition? [Chuckles] [Silence] With your inner eyes, are you finding the Divinity within or not?
I am.
Yes.
I do sense there is this permanent battle, I sense there is a battle, like mind is coming in.
Wait, wait. Now, keep your inner vision on the Sadguru Presence. Keep your inner vision on the Sadguru Presence, and speak from that. It has nothing to do with your attention. Attention can go wherever. I'm just talking about intuitively remain aware of the Divinity within you, and speak from there. [Silence] Is there a battle?
I was going to say, can you help me to dissolve this fear to speak from there.
Yes. My inviting you is an invitation to dissolve it. Because it can feel a bit wobbly, it can feel a bit scary, because we're letting go of all the constructs used in the past to define our self.
Through inquiring I saw that, there is this arrogance, to...
Don't determine the nature of anything for the moment. Don't try to understand anything. Just follow very simply, like an innocent child. Now, you're aware of a Presence within yourself. Now, this Presence itself is the Sadguru Presence that you are longing for. Now, there is an aspect of yourself, your Intuitive Intelligence, which is aware of this. But don't rely on any other knowledge for the moment. Just remain with this. Nothing can hurt you. You will not lose anything of value. You will only lose your false narratives and ideas. [Pause] So, don't go in there with a thermometer. Don't go in there with a measuring tape, like 'How am I feeling now? Is it working for me, is it not?'. Just try to keep that aside, as much as possible. I know that it's a habit, so it may feel like it's a bit too much to let go of. But I am just inviting you to gently notice that, and in the noticing it will dissolve. Otherwise it can just feel like 'Yes, the Presence is there...Can I stay like this? How much is it? Is it increasing? Is it reducing?' Leave all. 'Am I being true? Is it just my mind?', you see, all this stuff. The doubts, the confirmations, everything. Just keep it aside, as much as possible.
Including the fear that I lose my next question. [Smiles]
Yes, definitely that. You said, that you are longing deeply in your Heart for Sadguru Presence. How can there be a next question after that? [Chuckles] So, you're being in your Heart for something else also? [Both laughing] 'Once I get this, then...'. this is how the mind will play with you, it will say 'Next, okay if this is sorted out. This is my one opportunity, ask him, ask him!'. What better can you give to yourself than the Divinity, the Holy Presence of the Sadguru within?
I need to drop this belief that you can reach Sadguru Presence only at Guru's feet.
What do you mean by 'Guru's feet'? There no difference between Sadguru’s Presence and Guru's feet? These feet is not a lump of flesh or... Falafel. [Chuckles] [Pauses] A man said to Papaji [Sri Poonja] that 'When I'm at your feet, everything is fine. But when I go into the marketplace of the world, then I'm full of suffering'. So Papaji said 'Why do you leave my feet?' He said 'But, when I go outside...' , Papaji- 'Why do you leave my feet?'. [Silence] 'Bowing down' is a metaphor for letting go of our righteousness, our knowledge, our need to own. It's just bowing down in surrender in our Heart, that's more than enough. In India, of course it's a very natural thing, in the west it seems very convoluted. In India it's so, so natural and common, but it's metaphorical, it's representative. So the bowing down is letting go of our ideas and our notions of what is true. And the Master's feet is what you naturally come to as the Divinity in your own Heart. Let go of your mind. [Pause] Sadguru Presence is becoming apparent or not?
It is apparent.
The war has gone away, the permanent fight has gone?
I think, mind will come, but...
You ‘think’ mind will come... [Both laughing]
Guruji [Sri Mooji] says that, it's not me... [Laughing]
Guruji thinks mind will come.... [Both laughing] It's not a crime you committed, or something. I'm just laughing, don't worry.
I'm just wondering why it's so hard to...
What did I say about the Why-question?
To let them on the trolley bag, whatever..Don't pick it up, don't think.
If you want to pick up a 'WH'-question, pick up the Who-question. [Silence] Otherwise, if you have to answer a Why-question, I've been saying, answer why you are. Why are you? That is the only Why-question I'm allowing. Why are you?
To be One with you. [Silence]
Then, that's the answer to all Why's.
Sorry?
That's the answer to all ‘Why's’ then. Can there be a ‘Why’ after that?
No.
Very good. Let the bags go, they will come, let them go. Don't worry.
