The mind judges and labels but is not your entirety; explore what remains when you leave the intellect behind and simply look without trying to understand or drop anything.

Ananta

So “Yes” and “No” and “True or Untrue” are there. What aspect of your being is that?

Seeker

None. (Laughs) None

Ananta

(Also laughing) What are you saying? Mind, intellect or what do you want to call it? You can choose your own term for it.

Seeker

Pattern of thinking maybe like that.

Ananta

Pattern of thinking, conditioning whatever you want to call it. So there it feels like our attempt is to admit over there, no word what Ananta says is true. But I don’t care about, what happens over there, because even if you say it is true over there, next moment it will be something else. So I don’t care about that so much. Now what is happening in the rest of you?

Seeker

Ah!(Sighs) No. Nothing. But I know somehow it is being seen, but the Seeing is not enough!

Ananta

Let me tell you something subtle. Let me tell you something subtle. So when I ask, what is happening in the rest of you, what many of you do is, you recognise: ok, there is this mind, intellect, which is judging, saying yes yes, or no no, I don’t like this or I like this. Either way, whatever it is doing. And there is the rest of your being (shows space with his hands) you see, like that like that. Now when I say what is happening in the rest of you, what you are trying to do is, trying to take the experience through the lens of the intellect. And then being able to make a judgment about that. You see. But then you can say, either nothing or something, which can come only through the same lens of the intellect. Too much? It’s actually very simple, what I am saying. So I am saying, that there is an aspect of your being, which has the capacity to judge and say: yes yes no no true true false false and all of that. So let’s call it the mind intellect. Yeah? But that is not the entirety of you. Although we live as if it is! Mostly. But it is not the entirety of you. So when I say what about the rest of you, rest of your existence. What does it have? So what we do is try to get a glimpse and then we go back to that and say: haha, there is nothing. You see, but I don’t want you to go back. It is not just to get a glimpse. It is for you to live. (Laughs) You see. So if you don’t return from this question, then that is good. (Short pause) You see what I am saying? Otherwise we keep coming back to the supremacy of the intellect. Because we just use it: Ok, now I looked out of the window. This is what I see. I see that there are three birds. But sparrows are very good birds. So it can make judgements, so we have not really left our ???. So we are trying to be the viewer and then hold on to, what our judgments about something are. So. But when I ask you: what is happening in the rest of you? Leave that aspect behind and see if something forces you to come back. Leave the aspect of the mind intellect and just go on an adventure with me…. God is here (juggles) You don’t have to believe me. Just adventure with me, explore with me. Leave your mind. What else is there?…. You don’t have to use my term. I may say god, you may say something else. You may not say anything at all. But don’t go back for judgement to the same guy. And if something forces you, then expose that. (Pause) Now there is no time. Here there is no time. So all the reasoning can be dropped. (Longe pause, smiling)

Seeker

I hear your words, I understand them, but like…I can’t drop it.

Ananta

(juggles) Ok, in which aspect of your being is that conclusion being formed in? The whole entirety of your being is saying: I can’t drop it.? Is it like that?

Seeker

No, it can’t be like that.

Ananta

Yes, look look, look, just looking is enough, you don’t have to do anything, including dropping. Just look. How big, compared to your being is the tantrum who is saying: I can’t drop it! (Laughs)

Seeker

Father, I am serious, don’t laugh.(Laughing)

Ananta

(also laughing) You see, how big is that?

Seeker

Now it feels like it is taking all my space, it does feel like that. The room is full of it, my body is full of it , my mind is full of it.

Ananta

Of the judgement guy?

Seeker

Of this like: I can’t drop it. I can’t see through this.

Ananta

The ….. is also saying I can’t drop it?

Seeker

The what?

Ananta

The finger is also saying I can’t drop it, I can’t drop it? The room is also saying I can’t drop it? (Laughs)

Seeker

Its more like it feels like it is closing in, like the world becomes so small. Like sometimes I experience like this.

Ananta

And what is getting outside this closing in? You are not there?

Seeker

I never looked like that. Ok, thank you.

Ananta

Thats it (long Pause)…. Where are you not? Can you find somewhere, where you are not? And is every part of you protesting: “I can’t drop it!” ? (Juggles)

Seeker

No, it feels like in the body, like contraction. Like something like…

Ananta

Yes, but what’s…(some unclear words) the contraction? Either outside or inside? Who is being contracted? (Long Pause) … Suppose you didn´t ever have to fix anything in this aspect, either to get its agreement or its disagreement, its Yes its No its true or false, all of that, suppose you did not have to bother with it at all.

Seeker

Do you think I heard what you said right now? No.

Ananta

(Laughy) Actually where do you have to see to confirm that? How do you know wether you heard it or not? So Guruji says:” I am trying to do a mind bypass.” So if your mind didn’t hear, how do you know wether you heard it or not? (Laughs) Lets go there. What is there, which is the product of the bypass? We know what the mind looks like. It will keep jumping, saying this…that. We are very well aware of its complexity and complexion. What else is there to you? If I bypass the mind, what is left and would you be able to look at that and confirm: “Yes I heard it over there” or" No I didn’t hear it there”? Can you look at that and see?

Seeker

I don’t know, somehow I see it and I don’t see it. Both and then both are being seen. Right? .

Key Teachings

  • The mind/intellect that judges (yes/no, true/false) is not the entirety of who you are - there is a vast rest of your being to explore
  • Don't try to understand 'the rest' through the lens of the intellect - just look without judgment, even the statement 'I can't drop it' is just a small tantrum within your vast being
  • When you bypass the mind, something remains that can witness and confirm - you don't need the mind to know if you heard or understood
