There is no 'I' to drop since it doesn't truly exist; one simply stops catching the mind's proposals and remains notion-less in this moment.

[Clicking of fingers] That’s how. Gone? You can’t keep it you see. So actually it's right what you are saying. We must stop saying ‘it must go.’ It is not there anyway. [Smile] So what should we say? Stop taking yourself to be that which you are not. Don’t drop the ‘I’ just don’t catch it. Is that better? Isn’t it? You don’t actually have to drop the ‘I’ because there is no ‘I’ to drop. You are empty of it. But it comes in the form of a proposition from the ‘mind.’ [Smile] Like we were joking earlier no? Hello, my prince of Egypt here you are. When it is making that offer to you just tell it to hit the road. Not, not in words. [Smile] Guruji [Sri Mooji] had one time said no? His favorite song was ‘Hit the road Jack’ [Smiles]… song for the ego! Is that better? So don’t drop the ‘I’ just don’t catch it. [Smile] [Reading from the chat] And you say ‘Yes, sounds better. Does that mean dropping of all desires and ambitions?’

Ananta

It means dropping of all notions. Remaining notion-less not forever, just now. [Silence] That’s it.

Key Teachings

  • There is nothing to 'drop' because the 'I'/ego doesn't actually exist as a real entity - it only appears as a proposition from the mind
  • The practice is to 'not catch' the mind's propositions rather than to drop or eliminate anything
  • Remaining 'notion-less' - not forever, but just now - is the key to freedom
