There is no 'I' to drop since it doesn't truly exist; one simply stops catching the mind's proposals and remains notion-less in this moment.

Free Will or God’s Will I was with this Master called Ramesh Balseker for a few years and he used to speak about free will and God’s will in these Satsangs we used to have. So I realized that this debate of free will and God’s will is really endless. If we don’t really tackle the question ‘If there is free will then whose would it be’ ? Because, if you are already going to presume that there is a separate One and then try to decipher whether that One has will or not then you are already taking the poison and then looking for the antidote. We are already presuming something which can then mess up the rest of our conclusions. So without that presumption that ‘There is a separate One’ when we look, do we find the One, like if there was volition if there was agency then whose would it be? There is nobody like that that we have found.

Key Teachings

  • There is nothing to 'drop' because the 'I'/ego doesn't actually exist as a real entity - it only appears as a proposition from the mind
  • The practice is to 'not catch' the mind's propositions rather than to drop or eliminate anything
  • Remaining 'notion-less' - not forever, but just now - is the key to freedom
