Is Your Being Hostage to Tiny Constructs Called Thoughts?

We are not our thoughts or the limited 'me' we've constructed, but the timeless Consciousness/Light in which everything appears - suffering is only forgetting this identity.

Ananta

Examine yourself, and see if you are that powerless, that weak, that you are having to dance to the tunes of these little perceptions, tiny bits of thoughts, which are saying “Not good, not right, not this, not that”. Is your Being hostage to them? It is only what you take yourself to be, your identity, which is not just hostage to them, but it is made up of them; it is made up of all these judgements, all these interpretations. So, as long as you, Consciousness, take yourself to be that limited entity, it can seem like these are valid representations of Truth. But once you step back from that identity and see yourself as you are, then you will see that none of this — it is like tiny grains of sand on tiny grains of sand — they mean nothing for the timeless One. All these interpretations and judgements have nothing to do with your reality. It will come to nothing tonight, in your sleep state. Empty of this universe, what will you do with your judgements? At the end of this life, in the absence of any perceivable universe, what is the value of all that you take to be true? What is that Truth which will not leave you even if the whole universe dissolves? And this Truth is the simplest to find, simpler than finding. It is you. It is the false that has tired you out. You are that Light in which the light of this universe takes birth, that which gives light to even your existence, to Consciousness. But we take ourselves to be just a tiny coming and going. And, this representation of yourself is so far from your Self that in your heart you are aware of this great contradiction and that is why it seems that we are suffering. It’s like that actor who was given a role but then forgot he was acting, but something still bothered him, and he kept saying, “But something doesn’t feel right about this, doesn’t feel complete somehow. I try and do a better and better job, I try to make this world, I am giving it my best shot, but something doesn’t fit still.” Because your true Self is here, but we’ve built a mountain of concepts about a ‘me’ which never existed, in our attempt to make this work individually. In Satsang, we are realizing that all this house of cards can be blown away. So, you have my invitation to just remain empty of any idea about your Self. That is the simplest, most effortless. Or, you’ll have the mind’s invitation saying, “But this and that, how to live this life, what is right, what is wrong?” For you as Consciousness, what is your will? How would you like to play? This is the story of the garden of Eden — somebody says it sounds like that, and it is. Once we get caught in our good and bad, that’s conditioning — ignorance in the garb of knowledge that just limits this beautiful garden and makes it a war zone with its two sides, duality. But what is here now? [Silence] Has your Being, as Consciousness, as God, become so powerless that it is now dancing to the tunes of its own tiny aspect? Is this your reality?
