Consciousness Is One Doer
Consciousness is the only doer; all actions arise organically from the one Consciousness, and from true Self-Knowledge there is no good or bad—everything is part of God's play.
Yes. Not really but we can put on this pose of indecision (or something like that). Some sort of thing like this with this idea of ‘I am not the doer. [Smiles] But the action and inactions, (whatever terms we use for that stuff) is just organic. In the sense, that the same way the though arises, the action arises. There is no individual entity, which is the thinker of thoughts or the doer of actions. So that same Consciousness (which is the One doer) as long as the notion of doer-ship still seems real we can say that Consciousness is the One doer. So all will, all volition, all agency, everything belongs to the one Consciousness because there is nobody else. Then you say [Reading from chat] I guess my question Father, to put it in another way is ‘Can the person construct, when believed to be real, negatively impact God’s doing?’
There is no negative or positive in God’s doing. That’s why the playground concept, that’s why it is called the leela or play there is nothing (that) can go wrong or well for God in this play, it’s just the way that we are playing. [Reading from chat]: Is that not, why there are wrong doings and crimes?
Well, it’s a difficult sort of communication to have. But even that which we call wrong doings or crimes, all of that is all part of this one play. Now based on what you take yourself to be in this play, the severity, the intensity, the suffering or the (okay let’s keep it like that) are based on what we take ourselves to be in this play. But once this delusion breaks, once this dream is over, then all of it is just what it is. We do not need to label it as good or bad, right or wrong. This is from the perspective of true Self-Knowledge. That’s why I am saying about this intuitive knowledge, that you can follow your intuitive sense even in the world. So, in the world if you see something and something just feels like you have to react to that and say, ‘No, stop this’ it can happen in its own way. When you don’t take yourself to be this limited entity, and you trust your intuitive insight, then it can be followed not just in terms of Self-knowledge, but even it guides you in terms of how this world is unfolding. And if it feels like there is still a notion of individuality remaining somewhere and you feel like you need to be guided somewhere, there is no better guidance than intuitive knowledge.
Key Teachings
- Consciousness is the One Doer - there is no individual entity that thinks thoughts or performs actions; everything arises organically from the same Consciousness
- From the perspective of true Self-Knowledge, there is no good or bad, right or wrong - all is part of God's play (leela)
- Following intuitive insight is the best guidance when the notion of individuality remains, as it guides both in Self-knowledge and how the world unfolds
